World War Z poster rebuild previous bad press over film
It was much the same with Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, Game of Thrones and many other adaptations of famous novels: the books are always better, according to fans and critics alike. Following the initial hype surrounding the adaptation of World War Z – a zombie apocalypse survivor retrospective – the famed tome has also fallen by the same sword before the film has even been released. Now, posters are on hand to restore faith ahead of its cinematic debut.
Despite its fair share of cutting room problems – and directorial arguments – the silver screen’s take of Max Brooks’ novel by Quantum of Solace director Marc Forster has finally picked up speed, with the dual release of a stunning and somewhat haunting poster alongside a brand new trailer.
Until now, viewers had not seen much about the film since an understandably high-profile Super Bowl advert, though with the film close to a commitment to cinema celluloid, promoters have gone on a print offensive.
Interestingly, the poster does not feature Brad Pitt, the actor central to the heavy reimagination of the modern horror dealing with a worldwide the recent zombie outbreak. Paramount instead chose a more eye-opening route, showing a swarm of undead attackers piling on top of one another to take out a helicopter. It has to be seen to be believed – though the trailer may help people imagine the scene a little more vividly!
