Top tips for promoting your business from home
Running your own freelance business is hugely rewarding, allowing you to manage you own time and make money doing something you really love. Often, the hardest part is finding customers, so we’ve put together a quick guide to help you promote your new venture.
1.     Social media. Set up a Twitter account and start reaching out to people who work in the same industry. Have a website that explains what you do, and keep it personable and approachable.
2.     Create a brand. Use the same design scheme in all of your promotion, including letterheads. People will start to recognise you.
3.     Networking events. Look out for freelancer meet-ups in your area – you’ll pick up lots of tips and make some really useful connections.
4.     Business cards. Get some business cards printed up so you can keep those connections! Top tip: Always make a note on a card before giving it to somebody – it increases their chances of getting back to you.
5.     Take every job. It’s easy to stick to what you know, but you’ll get more PR with a wider portfolio and a larger client base. Take the leap!
