Iron Man 3 adds to horde of posters with IMAX offering
Iron Man 3 has been all over billboards and bus stops around the country, but the latest addition to its burgeoning print campaign is perhaps the most visually stunning of them all.
At last count, Iron Man 3 had nine posters, but the film’s creators have bumped that up to ten with a much artier take on the life and times of lead character Tony Stark, working with a famed designer known for his prowess in the comic book industry.
To make their IMAX midnight poster as memorable as possible, Paramount and Marvel have collaborated with Jock, a comic book artist known to fan communities for Judge Dredd, Batman and Mondo. Using a simple approach with striking visuals, Jock applies his textbook touch to the long-awaited Mark XLVII armour, alongside six specialised armours that will be seen in different scenes throughout the movie.
Marvel’s long-term plan for film adaptations is taking a renewed direction with the release of Iron Man on April 25th, and has been referred to by the organisation as the beginning of its silver screen “Phase 2”
Those lucky enough to see the film on its midnight release at the IMAX won’t go home empty-handed, either; a number of posters will be produced for people to take home with them.
