Chrome for iOS brings wireless cloud printing to devices
Those who want flexibility in their printing tasks on Apple’s various platforms have been handed something to shout about by Google, after the firm this week revealed that the latest update to Chrome for iOS would deliver wireless printing.
The feature, which is joined by a series of other new features, is available now for iPad and iPhone. Chrome version 26.0.1410.50 taps into Google’s Cloud Print service to let iOS users print web pages, though users require a running PC connected to a network or local printer; the regular desktop version of Chrome is also required.
An impressive toolbox of options is also provided to users prior to commissioning their print job, such as the ability to set paper size, whether or not they want to print on both sides (with a compatible printer), and the chance to set print numbers.
Google also revealed that the user interface of Chrome on iPhone now offers a full-screen option, hiding the browser bar and navigation buttons when scrolling down a web page. As with many other apps, these will return as soon as a user scrolls back up the page.
