D&AD Student Awards 2013 encourage entrepreneurship in young people
D&AD’s annual Student Award opened for entries this week, providing young hopefuls with a selection of real advertising and design briefs for actual clients, and offering a fantastic opportunity to springboard into a career in the creative industries.
The awards allow entrants to showcase their skills, and figures show that over three-quarters of winners find their way into a job soon after their success. D&AD also offer winners the chance to enter their own in-house Graduate Scheme. This year’s challenges incorporate social media, print marketing and graphic design, and are open to students worldwide who believe they have a chance of succeeding. If you want to see what entrants are working on this year, the briefs can be found on the D&AD website.
Tim Lindsay, CEO of D&AD, commented: âIndustry has a duty to nurture new talent â not because D&AD tells it to, but because the creative economy relies on new ideas to thrive. If we want to stay competitive in the global marketplace, the best way to do that is to support our best young minds. Their ideas will become the award winning work of the future.â
